It's strange that the week seems to have gone quickly...at least the first half of it.
Monday night we went to MidRivers Mall in search of a range hood. Sadly, Sears did not have what we wanted. We took the opportunity to price out other things we'll need...like a lawnmower and a gas grill. From there, we went to Value City Furniture and ordered our sofa, loveseat, and bedroom set (bed, dresser, mirror, nightstand). Everything but the bed will be delivered on Saturday.
Tuesday night, we had complete role reversal. I closed myself in the main bath and sanded and puttied the walls while Brad went through all of the boxes in the Florida room and put them in the appropriate rooms. We left around 8 and went to the Trainwreck to enjoy some music and have dinner.
Last night, Brad caught up a little laundry (I don't think we'd done any since before closing!!! Hopefully that will be our last trip to the laudromat!!) and worked on his paper for graduate school. I went over to the house, sanded and washed the bathroom walls so they will be ready for priming tonight, and I primed the walls in the guest room. Both projects were successful, even though I think I was wearing more of the primer than ended up on the walls.
After cleaning up, I unpacked what was left of the kitchen boxes and put everything into cabinets and cupboards. So, we feel like the kitchen is essencially ready for use - it will be 100% ready once the range hood I ordered comes in. Apparently a black range hood under $100 is not the norm. I am happy with the one I found - and it should be in within the next week and a half.
Saturday is "big stuff move day." I have a U-Haul reserved. I think this will be a HUGE step in making the home our own. Between the new furniture arriving and the big stuff we already own (bookshelves, bed, etc), we'll be able to really start living at the house instead of our apartment. We're really excited and looking forward to it!!!!
